Did he even remember he had a daughter before she won an Oscar? He was, by all accounts, absent from her life. And then she got famous and he was right there, glued to her side, soaking up all the attention he could no longer command on his own.

Here's a hint: when your child stops speaking to you because you give interviews to the press about her children and her ability to parent, the way to getback into her good graces is not to give an interview to the press.

Of course, that's assuming that your real goal is a relationship with your child and grandchildren.
